Pak Mei (white eyebrow) in Calgary?

Hello. I found out that their was a Pak mei school in my city but I'm not sure if I should bother going to check out the school because a friend of my fathers had told me that I should get more information on the school before going to talk to them as a lot of Pak Mei practioners are very selfish when it comes to teaching their art and will often tell you to get lost.

I've have read extensively about Pak Mei kung fu and have been interested in learning it for years but have never been able to find a school here in Calgary. I've studied other styles since age six but none have ever been able to hold my interest for long.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could offer me some information regarding this or any other school that may be operating in Calgary.

It might be that you have to impress the teacher -- unlike most schools, where they just look for discipline and moral character, a Pak Mei student is supposed to display wit, right?

Mayhaps you'd better come up with a witty introduction before you go talk to the teacher... It's an art I'd love to study myself, though.

If you're set on Pak Mei that's one thing, and I have met some good kung fu guys in the city (although not Pak Mei!) but I'd recommend you try some other things or at least take a look (I can show you).

I think you are lucky i dropped by. My close freind and several kids i now attend a very good white eybrow school in calgary although they may think you need to "be ready" his grandpa teaches and he does also his grandpa is a grand master which is very rarely found in anything and he also knows pretty much all chinese martial arts no lies shaolin,mantis,wing chun,etc
