Taekwondo Times (magazine) presented its 2004 Hall of Fame list and write up in its January 2005 issue (which should hit the stands soon). Grandmaster John Pellegrini, founder of the International Combat Hapkido Federation (www.ichf.com) was selected as one of five honorees this year.
As a student of Grandmaster Pellegrini, this is an honor which I feel is well deserved and I am very happy to see GM P recognized along with other amazing people such as Dr. Richard Chun (TKD), GM Chun Sik Kim (Instructor of the Year), GM Jae Joon Kim (Tang Soo Do), and Dr. He-young Kimm (Hanmudo). To bve included in such distinguished company is an honor in itself.
I respect that GM P has built up a quality system and spread it around the world. He has built a successful business out of his hard work but has never allowed the quest for moiney to dilute his system, work ethic, or the way he treats people. As a person who has worked with a great many of Combat Hapkido practitioners at seminars and schools in several states, I am proud to say that I have yet to meet someone who wasn't the “real deal”. GM P leads by example, trains hard, and mainatins high standards for himself and his students.
Big congrats to GM P! I know from his seminar schedule for 2005 that he isn't slowing down and infact will be teaching, learning, and sharing all around the world in 2005 (again!). Thanks to TKD Times for recognizing someone that in my humble opinion really deserves it.
Check out the issue when it comes out... the write ups (and biographies) of the honorees are well worth the price alone!
