Hello all,

How much do you stress, train in, teach, (I think that covers it) the Theory of Unbalancing or Off balancing?

Hello all,

How much do you stress, train in, teach, (I think that covers it) the Theory of Unbalancing or Off balancing?

I was taught that without a "base" you have nothing , no power , and no chance of defense or offense .Over the years I have seen that this is very true and goes for the opponent as well as yourself .

In my Hapkido class my instructor stresses that fact in every technique from the break aways to the kick defenses . Whether we are "weighting" or going for completely balance disruption the effects are similiar : slower reaction times , hesitancy , less power , and less mobility .

To say it again .. without balance there is no defense or offense .
