Does anyone know of fantasy books which have fantasy/mythical creatures living on the earth in modern times? Sort of like Interview with the Vampire but with other creatures...

It's not a contempory setting but Dead Man's Hand by Nancy Collins is fantasy/Horror set in the Wild West after the Civil War. It's five short stories with vampires, franken-style monsters zombies etc.

Jim Blaylock - Everything
K.W. Jeter -
Tim Powers - The Annubis Gates, The Drawing of the Dark (one of the greatest fantasies ever).
Charles DeLint - A Canadian writer (don't hold that against him) he has an extraordinary ability to meld mystical and mundane. He specializes in urban fantasy.
Neal Gaiman - Tremendous writer with a disconcerting habit of throwing incongruous sexual situations into his books, a flaw I'm at a loss to explain.
The Years Best Fantasy Anthology has a section devoted to urban fantasy, check it out. :)

Jim Butcher's Dresden Files. Mystery/fantasy/horror set in modern day Chicago. Main character is a wizard detective. Very, very good books.

Better is Kim Harrison's books; Dead Witch Walking, The Good, the Bad, and the Undead, and the third Every Witch way but Dead. Great books and has everything you're looking for in them.

I've just finished The Good, the Bad and the Undead. I find that the series is pretty well done. I like the supporting characters in the series particularly the pixie and vampire companions she has. As mentioned this series pretty much has a lot of fantasy creatures in a modern day setting.
A little disappointed with the second book though. Not so much the storyline but how the main character seems to be continuously portrayed as a victim whenever she interacts with a male figure of power. You're the heroine of the story. Start acting like it. If a vampire has shown in the past that he wants to drain you dry and make you his slave why are you going to be attracted to him? I feel the author was trying to push a little to much into vampire romance territory at times.
