I have noticed that boxing in the backyard and boxing in class are way different. boxing with friends in a backyard or something like that is way more agressive. i was looking for any tips against agressive boxers and some good atacks against them.

Yeah, you normally find that in the backyard, its an all out brawl. But in the ring at a boxing club, there is control and the will to excersize technical ability and skills.

Best tip against an agressive boxer? 3 letters, J.a.b.

against any boxer. 2 words. !GRAPPLE! !CLINCH!
{and attack the legs and lower body, they aren't used to covering there, and a decent kick to the thigh or knee will sweep em in a heart beat. just for the record, i hate boxing.

Agree with Yoda...get to a legit gym or azt least train with someone who actually knows how to box and you will understand the diff between boxing and backyard boxing...which of course I did plenty of myself:)

BTW Tekkengod, if you hate boxing, why post to a boxing forum? Lord knows this doesn't make you look trollish int he least :bang:

Well, boxing probably hates you too ^_^. Sorry, no hard feelings, just couldn't resist. I agree with the rest though, learn boxing the proper way. To my experience fooling around with a boxer(s), and getting them mad in the backyard can leave you behind black and bruised. If your gonna do some backyard fighting of any sorts, try to agree on some of the rules, what can and can't be done. then it will atleast see you through safely.

You say any boxer? Well I'm a boxer... though I also happen to be an accomplished Wrestler, not to mention all the other styles I study...
I love it when people assume a boxer can't grapple or use his/her lower body :D

Just for the record, I'm glad you hate boxing ;)

ok ok, so that was a little trollish, but let me reiterate, anyone who is soley boxing, or claims to be, like 75% of the highschool population {excluding wrestlers and MAists.}

I think this guy hit the nail on the head.

Takkengod (if that is your real name :p ), when people ask for tips in THE BOXING FORUM they are not looking for the clear ones that you give that are outwith the RULES OF THE SPECIFIC SPORT.

For example, if someone posts in the Judo forum about having a tough time with an opponent, only an idiot would say "punch him in the face/use an elbow/bite him/gouge his eye." Although this may work in self-defence, it's not applicable to the sport.

Please think before posting.

On that ending note... I feel this thread has had it's time.
