How would you sum up the most important aspects of self defense in one sentence ? I'm bored so I'd thought I'd get your views on how you'd sum it up.

Here's my attempt:

Don't think,react.

Have fun!

Think hard enough and you won't need to react...

Don't be in a position where you need to defend yourself :P

The whole point of self-defense is to ensure you never have to.

Okay okay, you got me. I mean a situation where you have no choice but to defend yourself :p

Please don't hi-jack this and say "you should never have to defend yourself" blah blah blah blah blah. I am aware of the basics of self defence, just wanted to see how people would sum it up in a sentence...

Fair enough: Self-defense in a sentence, then, huh, and assuming unavoidable combat?

Ok; how about "If he tries to hit you, floor his sorry behind and jack his shoes and coat."

Self defence entails THREE hits. I Hit Them, They Hit the floor, the ambulance hits 90.
