ok i know 70-72 is average heart rate per minute...
and with age it decreases... i m 21(almost 22) and my heart rate is about 50 p/m (resting state) and it can go really low too... to the extent where i hav scared ppl with no heart beat(now that's intentionally i do and duplicate whenever i want)...
so is this good or is this bad?
i mean low heart rate for 22 yr old1

Heart rate varies depending on when it is measured and what you were doing immediately before the reading.
Adults normally have a heart rate of 45-90 bpm (beats per minute) while resting. An elite athlete will have a low resting heart rate. An older person who is sedentary will have a higher resting heart rate. The higher resting heart rate does not indicate cardiovascular disease but a lack of aerobic conditioning.
Don'tcha worry there TKDWarrior ...yours is in the low normal range and a low resting heart rate is an indicator of fitness!! (because the rate will drop as your heart becomes larger and stronger with training)

A resting heart rate of 50 is nothing to be concerned about. A better way to judge it is to get your heart rate up to 1.5 X its resting rate, then see how long it takes to come back down. The elite, non-drug/steroid using athletes heart rate comes down very quickly.
