The weird west is a relatively new genre that couples horror, steam punk and fantasy in the famous places of the Wild West. I'm reading a book by Nancy A. Collins called Dead Man’s Hand which is a collection of five short stories based in the style. Does anyone know of other authors who write in this genre? Like I said it’s new and it’s hard to find. I’ve looked about but nothing comes up under this “weird west” heading.

I can tell you of a couple of RPGs that are based in this weird west, one of the most famous being Deadlands.

Bloodstone's another one, though I can't remember who wrote it and its more post-apocalyptic west. I'm not even sure if the series is still in print though.

I have Deadlands, but what is Bloodstone?

Its one book that I picked up in a charity shop, not fantastic, but definitely weird west. One in a series. Unfortunately I can't give you much more than the title of that one booko in the series.

How about the author please?

I took a couple of minutes to do a search on the title on Amazon, and came up with this.

Author is David Gemmell, and the series character is John Shannow.
