View Full Version : foam dipped pads and slipping?

For TKD sparring my wife and I use macho foam dipped shin and instep pads along with foam dipped arm pads.

The problem is when we start to sweat they slip around and we cannot keep them where they need to be.

We were wondering how to keep the pads in place while sweating and sparring?

I have no idea but yes it is a problem. I never even thought about how annoying it is.

Glue :D

Do they not fit well, not tight enough?

Maybe find some better fitting pads.........

Or try and saw some extra velcro strappy things on to keep em in place

I think pgm's idea of using velcro straps is a good one as long as the straps elasticated

One sure fire method is to take away the problem (i.e. the sweat)

Therefore a handy little trick I like is to put a tube grip sock over the area to soak the sweat and thus aviod the pads slipping around.

Tube grip are pretty cheap too and won't involve you havinn to interfere with the pads themselves (making them last longer!!!)

I thought I woz the only one sweaty enough to have this problem. I used to slip all over the place, in the end I resorted to doing the actions of a bull with my feet, im sure it nevered the opponent as well, lol.

Now I dont have the problem cos Ive changed styles and we dont wear any pads on our feet as we wear training shoes / trainers!
