I listen to anything that opens my mind.

Adiemus & Orinoco Flow by Enya
Elevation and Mysterious Ways by U2
All The Things She Said by TATU

Anything that I can feel as well as hear.

I really don't like to, simply because it gives me more opportunity to be distracted.

One technique I've heard of however uses a rhythmic beat, about twice a second. The idea is to concentrate on the beat and when it finally stops you'll have nothing. Never tried it but it sounds like it might work.

One of my favorites is a 4-CD set called "Sound Healers: Four Pioneers Explore the Healing Power of Music"

The four CDs are:

Drone Zone
In the Key Of Healing
Sacred Sounds
Inner Rhythms

Another one I like:

Japan: Shakuhachi - The Japanese Flute (Kohachiro Miyata)

From classical music:

Ralph Vaughn Williams: Lark Ascending
Samuel Barber: Adagio for Strings
A CD called "Healing Harp"; has classical pieces played by various harpists
Also, some of the music of Debussy, and Massenet

I also like those CDs of nature sounds -- rainfall, waves on the beach, bubbling brooks, birds chirping, etc.

I was joking ofcourse... really I don't like music whilst meditating. Sounds I love though are nature, naturally. Wind, sky, leaves and branches rustling, birds and insects chirping and the sound of the odd insects wings beating as they whiz by your ear ... thats whats it's all about for me. Being in nature for real, rather than listening to whales humping on my living room CD player. Don't get me wrong, I love ambient music and classical Indian and Chinese/Japanese music... koto etc ... but I meditate outdoors or in total silence, if indoors.
