what part of L.A? I train about 30 min north of L.A. but here are a couple sites in the l.a area.

The first three that come to my mind are Inosanto Academy, Bukti Negara with Pendekar Paul de Thouars, or Serak with Pak Victor de Thouars.

I'd like to second the recommendations for Guru Stewart.
For the UK guys (and gals!), I interviewed Guru Cliff a few weeks ago in L.A, and the article will be coming out in Augusts edition of Martial Arts Illustrated. He's had quite a life in the martial arts, and is a very interesting and charismatic character.
