I know, I know... "Ska's dead..." and Catch 22 is no more but Keasby nights is still one of my favorite albums. Any Streetlight Manifesto fans? Even if you arent really into ska, those guys are amazing. put on a great show too.

You're take on ska and mine are a bit different, a lot of people from your side of the pond call ska-punk ska to me ska is two-tone, blue-beat or ther jamacan styled pop.

True, most of our ska is very punk-esque (yeah, thats a word.) Friend of mine is really into british ska dont remember any of the bands he's into though...

I'm confused about the ska issue. Are there different types of ska? The ska I grew up hearing is totally different from this stuff other cats call ska. Also they pronounce it "Skaah", whereas I always heard it pronounced "Skyah". Are they the same thing? Would Millie Smalls be considered Ska?

Yeah that original 60's ska and it was released on the blue beat label

My fave Ska/Two Tone band was The Beat, brilliant, but there we're so many good one's The Specials, The Selecter, Bad Manners & of course the Guvnors Madness. Ah memories!
