I caught the last 30 mins of it as i was at Jujitsu. Was some pretty good stuff as well. I love watching other people train.

Most had some bouts under their belt but fighters with too much were ditched. You could tell almost all had some hand skills

Yes. They were meant to have not had more than a couple of bouts, but the lad from Bolton, Dave Court, is a bit more experienced. I think he's had about 10 bouts.

Yeah, it was obvious they'd had abit of practice prior to appearing on the show. Some of them had some really clean combo's and looked confident in the ring.

really good veiwing i hope the southeners get trashed
Yep, they're all registered amateur boxers with the ABA(?). The programme's intent was not to start out with complete beginners.
Even though I grew up in London, I hope the Northerners win. The Southerners are just too "wide-boy" for me. The scousers seem to have more heart, which is not to deny the commitment presented by the Southerners.
All the guys have been putting the effort into their training.

i was under the wrong impression, i thought they were starting out with fresh blood, not current boxers, i can't remember his name but the dark kid, he could not be bothered, thought he was fresh to the game. many of them had had previous training, which, to me , defeated the whole point. Also, why bring harrison to the programme, he is a waste of space anyway, thank god thay introduced Williams, a real boxer and probably the next world champ

agreed, the northerners seem to have more about them and i am biased being a northerner
i was under the wrong impression, i thought they were starting out with fresh blood, not current boxers ... Well, they're amateurs with limited bout experience I think. If you took completely untrained people, the series would take just too long - maybe 12 episodes rather than 5-6.

The Northeners are gonna win for defo. Nothing to do with my family coming from Liverpool. :D
(I know that i'd rather be coached by Ricky Hatton than Audley Harrison too)
Great programme as well.

well impressed with the amount of big name fighters that they managed to get to train these lads .looks like it is gonna be a good series.

that would be a good idea though don't you think, it would make the tv company more money, which essentially is the whole idea, sorry to put commerciality into it. It is great that they have pulled in so many big names, not sure why they bothere with Audley though, not a great example, i agree with funkymonky it has to be Ricky Hatton, brilliant fighter.

They have started to issue the free tickets for the Boxing Academy final on 15th November - going to be at York Hall in Bethnal Green.
I have already booked my tickets through their website (www.sroaudiences.com).
Anyone else from here going to be there?

Live final is tonight at 11. Any prefight predictions? (bearing in mind they havent actually chosen the final 2 yet)
regardless of who fights, i think the norths got this, joey's a pretty good boxer, plus the other guy is that massive southpaw, and NO amateurs can deal with southpaws.
