Despite your party affiliation or favorites, what is your political leaning according to your beliefs and views? Take the short quiz and show the results using the survey. I am just curious where the majority stands. This ought to be interesting.

"The Quiz has gained respect as a valid measure of a person's political leanings."
- The Washington Post

"The World's Smallest Political Quiz is savvy and willing to tell you the truth."
- YAHOO! Magazine

"The World's Smallest Political Quiz stands ready to help you determine your political identity. Quick and relatively painless."
- USA Today

As you all probably know, Im pretty darn libral.

"According to your answers, your political philosophy is: left-liberal

Left-Liberal
Left-Liberals generally embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but support central decision-making in economics. They want the government to help the disadvantaged in the name of fairness. Liberals tend to tolerate social diversity, but work for what they might describe as "economic equality." "

Would you believe I came out left-liberal? :eek: :eek:

I came out as a Centrist. I've always considered myself a moderate conservative. Guess I was a tad off. :D

I'm a statist (left-Auithoritarian... like Stalin...????????). Sort of fits me but I'm more a Left-liberal in my own head. I think that they asked the wrong questions to gauge me personally -I'm anti drugs cos I've seen the damage they do to society -yet they always use that question....

Whinge whinge.

here is another test you can take. that separates your political tendencies into both a social and economic dimension.

it will take a little longer but is more detailed and a bit less america-centric.

http://www.politicalcompass.org/

read home page first then click [take the test]

my political compass

Economic Left/Right: -9.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -8.15

On the 'Political compass' one I came out a Left-Libertarian. cool.

i have done the first test before, and it is good but because there are so few questions each of the questions tend to hold a bit more weight than they should.

The only issue I had with that test was the absent of a fifth answer, like "Sometimes or Undecided". I dislike having to either agree or disagree. Sometimes I just don't really give a flying hoop!

My poltical compass: Left/right: -3.38
Libertarian/authoritarian: -1.13

Guess that's the kind of unimpressive values I get for being strongly pro-choice and supporting the death penalty as well.

Centrist. 40/40 on the chart. And I agree with it, too. :)

The compass:
Economic Left/Right: -5.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.28

Right on top of Ghandi. ;)

Libertarian... more to the right.

Interestingly, the Political Compass gave the same results... Libertarian-right.

Good tests. I think the "World's Smallest Political Quiz" best relates to American politics. The other worldwide. Libertarian in America stands for Constitutional liberty, not liberalism.

Everyone needs to take a test like this. In the U.S., too many just jump on the bandwagon without really knowing where they stand "for real." The results can help you decide who best represents you. And just maybe... people will have the guts to vote that way in an election.

Some of these questions fumble about. Apparently I'm slightly conservative, and in reality I'm rather conservative.

On "Political Compass", I came out Libertaran-Left:

Economic Left/Right: -5.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.67

a position I apparently share with Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama!

Figures... I came out a Centrist. (more towards the liberal side)

I guess that makes sesne though. Some of my friends call me a Liberal commie and some of my friends call me a conservative Bush lover :confused: I guess the truth is somewhere in the middle......

We wish.

Libertarian (as if anyone is surprised).
"Libertarians support a great deal of liberty and freedom of choice in both personal and economic matters. They believe government's only purpose is to protect people from coercion and violence. They value individual responsibility, and they tolerate economic and social diversity."
Sounds fine to me.
Coercion = bad.
Violence = bad.
Liberty = good.
Choice = good.
Responsibility = good.
Diversity = good.
