I love Tool. I've seen them twice and I saw Maynard with A Perfect Circle when they supported NIN a few years back.
In fact, I'm listening to "Sober" as I type this

yeah, who hasn't heard of Tool. this may be off topic a little, but yesterday, we were discussing that b***h Courtney Love and how she murdered Kurt Cobain, and somebody was stupid enough to ask who Kurt was! we then gave her the hint of that he was in the band Nirvana, and she said she never heard of them before! and she's one of the those 'fake' punks. stupid avril

Yeah I got some tool stuff, not too bad. Not as good as scars of life though :D

I like Tool but I think they're a little too slow for my personal tastes. Kinda like someone telling a story but dragging it out. I'd rather get on with it...

i like the way the songs are long, it means i really get into them. they're not a band to listen while driving a car though.

I like Tool. Lateralus is a superb album. As far as the 'long songs' thing goes, most of my favourite bands (Dream Theater, Opeth etc) write 10-12 minute plus songs, so listening to Tool is easy for me. :D

tool are great. i should have seen them at ozzfest a few years back but i had the misfortune to fall into a drunken slumber on a hill under a newspaper and miss them :bang:

Tool is not too long, I feel ripped off for paying full price for Opiate. http://www.hoggatt.net/images/redface.gif

Was this the Ozzfest at Donnington? If so, how did you manage to sleep under a newspaper in that weather?! It was awful! My boots got so muddy I had to buy a new pair, though the mud did make the Slayer pit pretty fun

i dont like tool mostly because it took my friends :( it changed them and they were not the same, the band and music didnt but it was the first band they liked when they first liked rock... a gilr actually turned them into goths...

I only liked Tool for its lyrics. Keenan was a great writer, and the overall flow and tune of the music is suited to my taste. I hate it though, when people see me holding some metal band CD, and automatically assume I'm insane.

I hate all the people that like Tool but don't take the time to understand the songs. 46+2 actually prompted me to pick up a book by CG Jung, as did a lot of other Tool songs inspire me to research. Thanks to Tool, also, I discovered Bill Hicks. It's a shame all those wannabe goths and middle/high school morons like Tool, cause they give them a bad name http://www.hoggatt.net/images/redface.gif

to me, it's all about how the music makes me feel. I don't try to over analyse (no pun intended) the songs because i know it will make me lose focus and stop feeling the music as much.
