One of the guys I train with told me the MA used in this movie was Kali.
Can anyone confirm or deny this? When I saw it it looked like a combination of muay thai and wing chun?
Anyone shed some light?

Yup. Far as I know, Matt Damon trained with Dan Inosanto (or, at least, at Dan's school) in Filipino martial arts in preparation for the movie. And a lot of it definitely had an FMA flavor to it.
Of course, as choppy and chaotic as the fight scenes were, it was hard to tell. But, on the flip side, I liked the choppy/chaotic fight scenes because they gave a more realistic feel to the scenes. Kind of visually illustrated how chaotic fights really are.

I agree with Mike about the choppy chaos. I like that in a movie, probably why I'm the only guy (appart from Mike) who liked the Daredevil film.

Sort of a late reply.But....
Matt did get some FMA training from Dan Inasanto. It's supposed to be the Lacoste-Inasanto Blend. Incorperating kicking, trapping, and knife fighting.
I found the info by looking under Juanito LaCoste. It braught up th LaCoste-Inasanto Blend on a few sights.:)

I was wondering who was the FMA school or teacher that did the fight choreography for this movie. I too like the chaotic jarring style of the fight scenes, but kinda wish I could see more of the FMA moves.
A nice film with good MA sequences..:)
