Has anyone played the console versions yet? I've played the PS2 version and I love it. I'm only a bit disappointed with Talim though, her profile says she's Filipino, but her techniques doesn't resemble any Filipino art (more like Okinawan, since she's using a weapon similar to the tonfa). It's just a minor gripe though, and I would recommend the title to anyone here.

I've only played the first version, but that being possibly the best fighting game I've played makes me expect a lot from this! :)

Yoshimitsu was in the first version on Dreamcast. Other characters should be interesting!

The screenshots I've seen so far look very pretty ;)

Yea, this game will rock!!!

Iīve seen screenshots of every console version and I must say that the Xbox and the Gamecube versions look pretty decent but the ps2 version looks like it is snowing all the time (pixel)

hmmmz...... now that is an interresting remark... you're trying to tell me people have to be gay to play a certain console? i would like to hear your theories....

sometimes when people use the word "gay" it doen;t ahve anyhting to do with sex. Sometiems it means "really weak or stupid or very uncool".

My experience is that homosexuals prefer PS2. :P

You do know that the original meaning of the word gay was akin to happy

Kiddy-Kenshi

i realize that yes, but people tend to use it for people who just fall in love with their own sex, and KendoDavid , i do know that, but thats just stupid use of the word actually, it actually means happy or different... the problem is that nowadays it almost only means homosexual and that's generally what people use it for.
I may sound whining atm, but I really do care about this subject, because it is one of the most ''used'' parts of discrimination and its not being stopped enough.... thanks for listening ;)

i come to see a rational discussion between people about soul calibur, and it blows into a lifestyle argument... only on the internet...

yea i would definetely pick the gamecube version or the xbox over the ps2, simply because the xbox has better graphical prowess, and the gamecube HAS LINK!!! if only the ps2 controller was supported by xbox.

I hear you, the ps2 controllers are so much better than the xbox's it makes me cry.

The controller S is actually quite good. And the 'Cube one lends itself nicely to the SC controls. Especially the Wavebird wireless ones. The PS2 ones are nice though. No doubt about that. It's my experience that link is the best out of the exclusize characters.

I've gotn alot of the 'gaycube' thing from my freinds, but i thuroghly beleve the controles for SC2 are easer for gamecube. And i also have an opinion on the whole dominent console theory.

PS2=Best rpg's
Gamecube=Best graphix and multiplayers
x-box=Best action games ever.

And one more thing, X-BOX is fun for only two reasons.
1) Action games like HALO that could used as a military traning program to destroy entire countries. :woo:

2) Addictive for the sole reason that X-BOX's are infused with evil beyond words. :D

I have SC2 and T4. and honestly, SC: its fun at parties, but requires NO skill to play.
Tekken on the other hand requires some sort of skill.

Actually, it's more like this:

PS2: Most selection. That's about all you need to say. PS2 has many good games in all genre's. But only two controller ports and weak graphics.
Gamecube: Most original. I consider this one the hardcore gamers consule. Nintendo has just a way with making awesome games that are unlike anything else out there. Bad thing about it though is that it tends to have a really kiddy look to most of its games (but still fun).
Xbox: Graphics, onlineness and mature games. Just think of their big name titles, Halo, Splinter Cell, Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden. All are adult games and are fun. But Xbox has a lack of just about anything else.

Tekken on the other hand requires some sort of skill.I scoff at that remark. lololol. SCII requires far more skill than Tekken. I have experience in both. You can get away in tekken by button mashing. In SCII, you can look cool by button mashing but will get your controller handed to you if you try that against anyone with a few hours experience.

Bah, i own the game, and yes it does take skill but less then teken. Well teken 4 atleast.
I picked up the controller for the first time and did a bunch of stuff. When i looked at the command list, i could already do half of thier moves!

So that's what skill is, memorizing button combos? In SCII you learn how to use your defensive moves and read the other fighter to find his tactics. In Tekken, (At least Tekken Tag), Your only defence moves are up block and down block. Otherwise, yeah, you can memorize your ten hit combos.

wait.....what system do you have SC2 for? Mine is the PS2.

Bellator Manus

Cube. OK, I'll try my best to steer it in the opposite direction of an argument.
My understanding of SCII:
Defence: you have a up block and down block which are pretty self explanitory, you can hold them down as long as you want. Then, you can struggle out of a grab if you tap your buttons quick enough. But, you also get a set of counter moves that only last a second but will leave your enemy vunlerable for a combo of your own. It has to be done at the moment of impact to work, you miss or do the wrong counter and you'll get it. It's mastery of this is what will either make you win or lose. You have, up guard break (that's what they call it), downg guard break, or a counter to a attempted grab. But, even doing this correctly insure that you get a hit. Because if he guesses your move and does a guard break to you just after you guard broke him, he will have the upper hand again. Oh, and side stepping.

Offence: You have several combos you can do with each character. But you can also link them up too (I can do 4 combos together with my favorite character). But also, half of your moves tend to me either one or two hits but are useful for a different situation. quick hits to take your opponets off guard, big hits that smash through defence, quick up, down hits to try to reach past someone's defence. Then with different character having different weapons (instead of using just feat and fist, not that that is bad), they vary significantly from each other.

Tekken (Tag)
Defence: you block up and down and side step. That's all that I know.

Offence: The fun part of tekken, pulling off awesome moves. The thing about it is not know which he will try to pull off. And it has a nice cast of characters (more than SCII) so finding one that fits your style will be easy, but might take awhile. You have dozens of long combos you can do. But you better start memorizing buttons. I know know someone that had that game a long time, and he still only button mashes, I don't know why because that's the easiest way to pull out combos I guess. I always beat him though.

That's basicly my experience with both of them. While I own SCII, I friend owned Tekken Tag, so if I got anything wrong, you can kindly correct me, but I did play it alot. That's been my experience with both.

Well, my first PS2 fighting game was tekken4, then i picked up soul calibar2. Found that combo's could be done with some charecters but just mixing up buttons. The more hardcore ones are in the command list, but overall i got the basic playability right away. It took me time with tekken.

Ive played SC2 for the cube and was sorely disappoined after playing it in the arcade long ago and playing the first on the PSX. I dunno about the PS2 and Xbox versions, but Taki's boobies have no bounce what so ever on the cube, and that was a big part of the first one :p All things concidered, Im not going to play it again unless Im forced to. I just bought Street Fighter Anniversary Collection for my PS2 and Im in heaven.
