Hey peeps,

I have another computery type prob. I know, I know, I shouldn't be allowed near one the amount of problems I come across.

Anyway, I'm using the might MSN 6.2, however, when I tried to log on last night I got a message saying that I couldn't log in as my username or password didn't match or some such message. On checking the MSN passport thingy it told me all was well and I checked that my modem etc. was working correctly.

After several attempts I managed to log in, only to find that it had reverted to nasty MSN 4.7. :woo:

I tried the repair option for MSN 6.2 and still no luck. However, after logging out of MSN totally I managed to look into MSN 6.2. So all was well, but then this morning I get the unable to log in message as username/password are no good.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so can you tell me how you solved it, sort of throwing your computer out of the window in frustration :bang:

Thanks peeps, I feel the love

you've got a downgraded messenger. i was thinking the installed updates for 6.2 got deleted or uninstalled. repair options won't work if you've got some of the 6.2 files missing. also, msn no longer accept old versions, that explains the message you're getting, so you've got no choice but to install the latest. the best you could do is to reinstall your messenger again, you could get the free installer at <http://messenger.msn.com/>.

.....and no matter what happens, don't throw your pc...any problem can be fixed.

I'm not sure exactly what I did first time round. I remember downloading MSN 4.7 and then I think I upgraded it though I'm not sure, I could've downloaded MSN 6.2.

I'll see what's what and get back to you all
