It seems that the long awaited (dreaded) SP2 can cause problems for system administrators.

Most of the issues are concerned with the built in firewall, and it is fairly easy in a 2000 / 2003 environment to setup a group policy listing the ports / services that are allowed through it. Or even give the user control as per most personal firewalls.
I'm planning a rollout at work at the moment - have it working with users in most of our departments at the moment (with over 60 applications in use across the Firm).
Still, not something to be taken lightly, I agree.

Im in the same position as HKF, we have been testing SP2 since the early beta stage and to be honest it's been very stable for me and my users but as with anything like this, your mileage may vary.

I'll throw my two cents in too. I've updated my user's computers to SP2 and haven't had any troubles. Actually I'm quite pleased with the way it is running as compared to running XP SP1. But, as stated above, Individual results may vary!
