Hey! Just wanted to welcome you to the forum Little Lion! As for the weight training, I can't really help you there...but I can guarantee someone will! Once again, welcome!

Hi there lion and welcome to the forums :D

For your weight training question, our hero Yoda will probably give you a five page article on this one am sure of it :D

......sometimes I wonder why he's not the moderator here.....

Anyways The best advice I could possibly give is weight training will not hinder your training if you continue to train for flexibility and speed too.....bet then of course that would depend on your routine........

Final words, keep it all balanced :)

It can only help. Do not make it the main focus of your training but don't neglect it.
A better athlete = stronger athlete
I know some gymnasts who use weights and they are strong, flexible. If they can weightlift and it helps them jump around all over the place then why can't it help in kung fu?

as the others said it is great for you, but don't neglect your flexability or speed and just focus on weights.

Hi Little Lion

Correct weight training can only benefit your training.

Train heavy

Train hard

Train infrequently

Stick to big compound lifts

Stretch

Get enough water, protein & sleep

That's about it :D
