I'm watching some K1 highlight videos with the middle weights (I dont know their names because it's in japanese), and almost all of the KO i see are done by gloved punches. They throw knees straight into their chests and it seems that it does nothing. Now I think a straight knee to the chest should KO not some sloppy punches with gloves to the head. These guys are middle weights maybe they aren't kneeing hard enough?? I know heavier weights like ernesto hoost and crocop KO with their legs as opposed to these guys.
Bottom line, it just seems that with these guys, lower leg striking doesnt do much to anyone. Maybe it's that their legs arent powerful enough relative to heavier weights?

Umm why exactly do you think knees to the chest should KO someone? :p
Look at boxing, there are plenty of KO's and they're only allowed to use their hands. Punches are a lot easier to land that kicks, and easier to aim at the jaw as well.
Are those highlight vids of only one fighter? If they are, maybe that guy likes punching more or something.

Also there are many pressure points in the head & face region, that when struck hard enough are KO's. Plus the head is a very vunurable it doesn't take much to knock someone out. My little brother got a lucky punch in when we we're sparring once & knocked me out... there's a 4 years age difference.
Anyone can do it

That video of Royler (I think it was Royler) getting KO'd, did you see that one? The final barrage that KO'd him started with a well-placed knee, and finished with the head.

ive seen plenty of k.o's via knee to the face. but punches are easier to land and really, if you are any good, a knee to the chest isnt going to knock you out, unless it is a real king hit.

a good knee to the chest still hurts like hell and can do alot of damage. can anyone remember eddie ruiz v yves edwards in the UFC? yves hits eddie with a knee to the body from the clinch and eddie doubles over in pain as soon as he goes to move again.

You can condition your body so you can take hits there and handle it.
You cannot do the same for the head.

My instructor always says, "You can condition the body but you cannot condition your head!"

Iron mike zambidis was in both 2002-2003. He lost in the semi final in 2003 i think :( . The guy is very famous in Greece (for a kick boxer anyway , only football players are famous here)
