ive read it i find that the book of five rings is way better when applied to hand to hand combat art of war applies itself to avoiding physical contact and tactfully overcoming your opponent in a less harmfull approach. now book of five rings gives you strategy to take em down at the same moment

If you like this, try; Budoshoshinshu, Hagakure, Tao Te Ching, Tao of Jeet Kune Do, Go Rin No Sho (BO5R), and The Fighters Notebook. THIS will change your life.

Actually, Sun Tzu wrote The Art of War. Myamoto Musashi is the author of the Book of Five Rings.

Hagakure Book of the Samurai was written by Yamamoto Tsunetomo in Kyoto when all was peaceful, what does he know about war! Actually, I've read that book and it was quite, erm, odd. Dunno how it applies to my practice of karate, but he has a totally different mindset, it's worth reading just to read IMO. http://www.hoggatt.net/images/redface.gif

Simply put, it is a treatise on how to fight a war. Strategy, management, concepts etc. Ideal if you're a despot considering world domination, or are Dr Evil.
Personally I prefer Karl von Klauswitz's 'On War'.
