I need some help. Abt a week ago I fell of the bike and my arms are full of scratches and bruises. It's really annoying because I can't hit with my fist becuase my knucles are all scratched and if I hit something the wounds will start to bleed. It's nothing seriuos, only the skin is damaged. Can someone tell some cure or something to make the sin heal faster?

There are some "traditional healing methods" for scratches & bruises which I read about.... such as using an ointment of honey, holding a banana peel over the bruise etc. etc.

My knuckles are always blistered and raw after every class from punching and what works for me is Vitamin E oil rubbed on them and if there is bleeding or cuts, I apply Neosporin or a triple antibiotic cream.

Do not use arnica or Tiger balm if skin is broken !!!

I often put witch hazel on big bruises, and it seems to work really well. You put it on like a gel and then let it dry.

I also take arnica tablets and apply arnica cream if I've got lots of small bruises and am generally achy. Seems to help me, although a lot of people don't believe in homeopathy.

Like KC says, don't apply either of the above on scratches. For broken skin I like to spray on an antiseptic cream with iodine just to keep the nasties off. If you've got an area that is constantly in contact with things, you can also use the spray-on blister stuff (Scholl make one). It contains an antiseptic and covers the graze with a coating that protects it from further harm, then wears off gradually over several days. I've used it for blisters when walking and it works a treat, much better than plasters.

The skin on your knuckles is rubbed off? Then work on your kicks for a while! That's what I would do. The best thing to do for this stuff is just to let it heal on it's own. However, if you really want to keep working on your punches, you could wrap your hands in cloth or something, I think.

Here is an interesting product that I have used in the past for sprains and bruising and it has seemed to help.

Vitamin E. You can get it as a lotion or a cream or an ointment. The stuff is amazing. Truly amazing. Even prevents scars after burns. Amazing stuff.

If you keep irritating the cuts healing time and the possibility of infection is increased.

Check out liquid bandages: http://www.bandaid.com/liquid_bandage.shtml

Arnica ceam works on bruises for me. I remember reading that - I think, although I could be wrong about this - Potassium helps to strengthen the blood vessels and helps prevent bruising. A good source of potassium is the bannana.

Hope this helps

Oh yeah nearly forgot. Arnica Montana pills clear bruises real fast. You could normally get of hold of it in most good pharmacies which sell homeopathic remedies.

Lavender oil on the cuts, arnica ointment on the bruises.

You'll smell like a tarts handbag though.
