Trouble finding a School..

I have much trouble finding a teacher for many reasons, first.. I have little money, so I would have to either find a very low costing teacher or one that would be willing to exchange lessons for work.. Another of my problems is I want to find someone who teaches and studies martial arts for reasons other than to impress others, make money or just to keep in shape. I do not mean for this to sound as though I am picky if it might. I live in South Carolina, Myrtle Beach and though I've searched some I can not yet drive, I prefer walking anyway, so I have trouble finding schools that are not listed in the phone book. If one of you know of a School or a Retired master that may be willing to take a student please tell me. Thank you for reading this post.

Hello karmine. A cheap instructor eh..... In the myrtle beach area eh....he he.....Just so happens that I have a friend (a former ma classmate) who told me the previous summer about a guy who teaches tai chi and chi gong, as well as ninjitsu.....all for free. This is in the garden city area of myrtle beach. You should know where that is. I haven't checked into it yet, so I don't know much about it. My friend works in the inlet square mall though, in the GMC health store. A caucasun guy name thomas. If he is still there, check him out and ask. There are also a few karate schools that I saw in the myrtle beach area I know that one is right off of South kings hwy, not sure of the exact spot. There is also another I noticed, but not sure where it is. Though I never checked any of them out. ALso, try the yello pages in the phone book. That can be helpful as well. So you said you don't have a car. Do you have anyone who would be willing to drive you around, parents or a friend.

By the way, are you new in the myrtle beach area....as for me, I'm about an hour a way from there, but I'm there from time to time. Hope I have been helpful to you. If I could be of anymore assistance, then let me know;) Good luck

Hey, even if you don't have alot of $, my instructor used to help those with not so much by having them come in and clean and do odd jobs around the school. My neice was one of them. Perhaps the bartering system my work for you.

No, Thomas is/was one of his students. He told me about it so that I could check'em out and maybe train with them as well, but I haven't had the time yet. I really don't have the transportation to get there. As of the dragons. No, not a group of martial artist. See, this is how it went. I am wayofthedragon aka WOTD, and my girl friend joined the site also and called her self dragon princess, and there was some mysterious guy on here who called him self dragon_duplicate, but I'm not sure if he really existed in real life:confused: Then my girl friend made another name as sexy dragon, and we would all come on here and make a lot of posts and stuff. We became well known as the Dragons.....

Hey WoTD I talked to Thomas, I think he liked me because he commented as I was leaving to his friend there that I was very polite.. anyway, he gave me Tony's number and been trying to contact him.. I think he uses phone or goes online with only one line alot though heh... Hope to talk to him soon. thanks for help.

Have you found a school/teacher yet. I live in myrtle beach and am looking for a school. I like the stuff that Danny Inosanto teaches. What stuff are you learning?
