It's pronounced "MWA DHAI" where there is a slight hint of the "y" sound in muay and the "t" is pronounced with a soft "dh" sound. Like "Dhe Dhad".
Siri-su-te is a funny guy...when's he coming back to NY for seminars?

moy tie? Hrm yeah if you enunciate every sound as if it were English. But it's thai. In Thai, the sounds are different...like ram muay for example is pronounce "lum mwai" where the "r" sounds like an "l".
Well anyways, who cares really how you say it. You say "potato" and I say "pot-A-toe"

Moy Tie is the right pronunciation. I have heard it several ways. My trainer is Sakasem "The punisher". I asked him before he said it was Moy Tie.

Not forgetting that there are many regional dialects in Thailand and therefore pronunciation is likely to be different depending on the area that the person grew up in.
My friends from Bangkok take the piss out of "Southerners" (Thailand) for their accent much in the same way that we (UK) Southerners take the piss out of Northerners for being bit backward ;)

In my experience the further south you go the more expensive the beer gets....... so I guess you're right...
That would make anyone want to go "backward" ;)
