How do I take images from a clip?

I have a movie clip that I want an image from. I play it in Windows Media Player but when I press 'Print Screen' and paste it to Paint, the image is black and doesn't show my movie scene. Is there anyway I can get the scene as an image file?

It works OK if I do it that way.

What versions of Windows and Media Player are you running.

I'm not sure about the WMP version but I have Windows XP.

I've started downloading a program to help me so I'll see how that does......

I've got Windows XP and Windows Media Player Version 9.0.

You could import the clip into Windows Movie Maker and try that way.

P.S. Are you Pausing the clip before you press PrintSceen?

I've sorted the problem out - I downloaded Advanced X Video Convertor which turns all the frames into images.

I may be wrong with this but i think it depends on the coded used to create it. You can screen dump from some clips but others will just give you a black screen

I used DivX instead :D

Infravview can let you take screen captures too, btw for the print screen there's a s/w called directx tools or something that let's you enable or disable print screen

It's actually a web-cam clip I recorded of me so I could use a picture for something.

Though regarding Maria, I wouldn't a pic of that stare she gives as she's serving *heart melts* :love:
