Don't know why you'd care, but I'm mostly Dutch and German with some Welsh and Scottish thrown in for good measure and negligible smatterings of lineage from other regions in western Europe.
But, regardless of where my ancestors came from, I'm American through and through. Which basically means that I'm a linguistically impaired rude SOB of a Yank ;) Actually, I try to be anything *but* that ... but I know it's a common image evoked (sometimes in jest) by the words, "I'm an American through and through." :)

Romania
Horse-drawn carts jostle for space against fast cars whose drivers are talking money on mobile phones; farm workers watch Baywatch courtesy of satellite dishes standing in the rear yard of their medieval farmhouse. Romania is clawing itself forward, slowly and surely sloughing off the remnants of the Ceausescu era. The transition is not easy, and for some it's downright painful. In the middle of the picturesque scenery and the headlong rush to development where the money is fast and the suits Armani, parts of the country are being left out. But in 1996 a neocommunist government was voted out and replaced by one talking about genuine reform, so the country is not without hope.
Romania has majestic castles, medieval towns, great hiking and wildlife, and the cheap skiing of much of the 'undiscovered' former Eastern Bloc. And the Romanians, despite being among Europe's poorest people, generally haven't cottoned on to the scams and ploys so common elsewhere to separate travellers from their money. You'll be floored at how different Romania is, but you'll almost certainly see signs that it's chasing the dreams of the rest of the West.
Area: 237,500 sq km (91,700 sq mi)

On the subject of race, I think some of the people here are too PC whipped and are terrified of the "race" issue. I think the thread is valid. we all come from various countries, cultures and races. We should be celebrating diversity and teaching each other about what wonderful difference we have. By putting the idea of racism ahead of the natural concept of race, isn't that an acceptance and acknowledgement of racism itseld?

J's right. I studied english language, and PC language was one of the modules. I've seen all the arguments, and I still think that language is not and cannot be inherently racist. It's a smokescreen for racists, created for people who don't think it's acceptable to say 'n****rs have got the same rights as anyone else' but would have no objection to someone arguing for 'segregation in modern society'...

I'm pretty much your average caucasian mongrel. My dad's side of the family has lived here in Canada since the late 1700s/early 1800s, (they origianlly came from Ireland) but with all of the immigration to North America at that time I'm sure my family has mingled with a bunch of other races since then.
My mom moved here to Canada from Pennsylvania, and I think her side of the family has been living in the States for quite some time too...I think they are originally from Scotland.

I'm 75% English, 25% Scottish, and last Thursday I became an Australian.
It's true. I've been living in Sydney for about 7 or 8 years now and got my citizenship last week so I can finally have a vote.

I'm "mostly" caucasion- majority of my ancestors coming from Ireland, England. The not so mostly (I'm like one- sixteenth) part is Native American Indian- not exactly sure what tribe- possibly Cherokee. Born and raised in U.S.A, and same with the majority of my ancestors since the 1600- 1700's. Currently live in West Virginia, but I've moved around a lot, so I can't really call any state my "home".

My nationality is American, but my ethnicity is mostly Han Chinese, even though not entirely. My ancestors were from Southern China mainly from Guangdong Province, in and around Canton. However, I do believe I have some Mongolian blood in me because many people think I am Filipino and many more say I do not look Chinese. When the Mongols invaded China and established the Yuan Dynasty, I believe they had children with many Han Chinese women, so it is possible that I might have some Mongolian blood in me. Plus my sister has natural brown hair, as do the women from my mother's side of the family. Hence I do believe I am not one hundred percent anything, but a mixture of different ethnicities, which defines most of us today.
