Does this help?

Word Help:

Document backgrounds are designed to be viewed on the screen and not printed. The background that you create by using the Background command on the Format menu will not print. To add a printable background, borders, or shading to your page, use the Printed Watermark command (by pointing to Background on the Format menu) or the Borders and Shading command on the Format menu.

Cheers. :)

Save it as a web page (save as, select from drop down [Web Page htm, html])
Open the document (web page) with Internet Explorer and go to the Tools menu, Internet Options select the advanced tab scroll down to Printing and check the box that says Print background colors and images.
Don't forget to uncheck it or you may get a nasty surprise next time you try to print a web page. :)
