What does everyone do when someone gets back mount? Just keep moving and tuck your chin?

And try to unhook one of his legs to escape. If his anckles are crossed you can try to break them.

Are we talking about from a Turtle position where your curled up in a ball and he's sat/laying over your back?
If we're talking about us both laying on the floor and he has my back then if he hasn't got his hooks in, ill start moving my lower section away from him. Or twist around so he has to close his guard on me.
If his ankles are crossed then he's a fool :)

if im fighting anyone decent, ill tuck my chin in and prepare to get owned. or try rolling to the side. and yes, if he crosses his ankles you need to stop fighting tards.

if he got me rear mount i hope i could
1) remove the hooks
2) turn towards him and he'd be on full mount
3) turn the table and i'd end up in his guard
4) pass the guard and go for a favorable position
5) go for submission.
my problem is that it is so hard to get to even #1 let alone #5.

I was in this very position last week... I was in a rear naked choke, but I got my chin down in time and managed to grab his other arm and pull it down a bit. After that it was a snap shoulder toss which landed us in the north and south, and quickly became a side mount :)
