Alright all, for any of you who are near Sydney you're welcome to come along for a feed and a general natter this Sunday, 11th of July.

Sunday 11th of July
1:00 in the afternoon
Sydney
Meet outside the Chinese gardens, Darling Harbour

All welcome, as well as anyone with backgrounds in other arts who want to know a bit more about IMA or just find out who's behind the names and funny sigs. If there's any non-MAP people who would like to come along, the more the merrier.

We'll meet up outside the Chinese gardens, have a vote as to the best Yum Cha in Sydney and walk up to Chinatown at around 1:15pm to have some lunch.

Have a feed, share your ideas, ask questions, give answers. Bring any good info you want to share and some cash for lunch.

PM me if you need directions.

Hey Nzric, I might go for a day's drive to Sydney. I live a bit too far.

Just joking. I am broke at the moment. But if I had the cash I would have gone.

Anyway all my blessings to all of you.

Gerard

Thought there'd be more reaction than a couple of posts, but anyways, let's make it 12:00 instead of 1.

Anyone who's not sure they can come - PM and I'll give you my phone no. in case you aren't able to get to the chinese gardens in time.

Hey
Got there at 10 to 12 and waited until 12.15 then bailed.
No show,if you want to catch up just email
Me: haven't been keen on this forum since joining but even more so recently,so won't be dropping in so much.
Mainly due to the lack of knowledge on the said topics.I continue to study and learn with what I consider one of the most sincere and experienced IMA people in Sydney. While balancing that training with body movement based arts and cultural studies.
But I can truly say the Sydney IMA and EMA is more froth and bubble then sincere practise.

Hey,

Sorry to hear you missed us. I turned up at 12:15 (trackwork on the trains so had to walk from Wynyard) but didn't see you. A friend of mine was waiting at the entrance to the Gardens from about five past but he said he didn't see anyone waiting around, so we hung there till half past then left. Bumped into Azrael as he was on the way down.

Azrael and my mate (based in NZ, aikido & shotokan background) and I went to yum cha.

Hope I get the chance to catch up with ya b4 I go to Melbourne - PM me and we'll def organise something.

I know what you mean about the Sydney scene. KF is an amazing teacher - probably one of the best around in the city.

Adc: Yeah, sorry to hear that we missed you. We must have said what a shame it was about a million times. Funny also that you say that about the forums, we were talking about it over lunch.

Martial Arts Planet, in my opinion, has alot going for it, and I would have to say it is one of the best of its kind, especially in terms of moderation. Major props to all the moderators! But... this particular thread (ima) seems to have turned into a bit of a joke. I say that because alot of people don't seem to have a problem in making statements, claims, or comments, yet when it comes time to explain why they have said what they have said, nobody seems to be willing to explain themselves. Instead we seem to get dribble about the tao, and a whole lot of 'i heard' & 'i once read' type answers. No wonder the internal arts have such a bad wrap. And please, enough with the empty force, meditating on your head, and mentioning vague daoist alchemy principles and then when asked about them, brushing off the question with a silly 'if you don't understand it's for a reason' type answer. That is of course unless you know what you are talking about from personal experience, are willing to explain more if asked, and are not simply saying it to make yourself look some kind of super hero.

Hmmm, got a bit carried away. Back on topic...

Nzric: Thanks for organising the meet up today, it was good. Shame more people could not make it. Was quite by that suprised actually.

True that regarding KF guys! He get's my vote.
