Yeah, this ones a piecer. I'm on my "New" computer (Yeah, right, it's got windows 95 and not even 32 MB RAM!!!) , but at least I can get on the net (somewhat). Actually, this is one of the only sites it loads. But I'm needing some help with getting more RAM, because my 128 MB one from my other computer doesn't fit in this one. Just wondering if anyone knew of a way to put the slot that the 128 RAM one goes into and put it in this one... Somehow. I need more than 32 MB RAM to put windows ME on this, so I can get Internet explorer 6 and, thus, allowing me to go into any site I want (Parental controls providing, at least). Or if anyone knows of a company or something that sells chips that hold more RAM than the ones I have that still fit into these slots (Umm.. It's an old ACER computer, just the old-style RAM) . OR IF YOU HAVE AN OLD HUNK OF JUNK, Send me the RAM from it and I'll ... Ummm... I don't know. ANYWAYS.... HELP.

There are umpteen different types, speeds, sizes, numbers of pins, etc of RAM.

Uhmmm......Well... Then I don't know how to describe the type that I have.... All I know is that it was made in Korea... And it has 2 box... Things on each side, and that it says 4/8 (4-8?) MB RAM . There's not much else I can say about it.

There should be a sticker somewhere, maybe side or underneath, that has the Model and Serial Numbers of the PC.

Armed with a Model Number, one could progress.

There's one on the side. I'll just hack in everything.

DS . AB572 . 001
P/N: 91 . AB524 . D03
S/N: 2601316885

I don't really have a clue what to do with these, other than memorize them and call it a talent.

Alright, so I went there and went to the 2 8-mb things (I saw 2 , and 2x8 is 16) sooo does that mean all the types of RAM on that page (At least, I think that's what they are) can fit into this thing, because then I'd be interested in getting the 64MB ones. If I'm reading it right... I think.

As I said:

Memory Slots are:
Four 72-pin SIMM sockets that support 4/8/16/32-MB 60/70ns fast page mode or EDO SIMMS. Maximum : 128MB

Most computers need 72-pin EDO SIMM installed in matching pairs.

You currently have 2 x 8MB installed.

You could have 2 x 64MB (You would have to take out the existing 2 so as to not exceed 128MB)

Take this info to your local PC Store, or even buy on-line.

Cheers. :)
