That's awesome news. I just watched some older UFC I picked up for New Years(I never saw a NHB match before)Boy was I dissappointed, I only saw the first match but it consisted of two guys riding each other out. They didnt bother striking much but just stood there(really) waiting for a takedown. It became a wrestling match! (Not the WWF or BJJ/Vale Tudo kind, the American high school kind) I see better matches at my school. Real fights don't have time limits, no riding out, I wanna see submissions!

I think the early UFC's are as close as you are going to get to watching a real fight, there were very little rules (no eye gougin and no fish-hooking were about the only ones)
You should watch more than the first fight - most bouts end in submission (even the early ones)

The first coiupla of UFC's were advertising for Gracie Jujitsu.

They got good after real athletes got in there. The first Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn was pretty good.

The fight your talking about was the second Ken Shamrock and dan Severn fight where they circled each other for 30 mins and threw about three punches each.

I did like the early rules but they tended to stop the fights early. Actually saw an american Kenpo guy punch this little dude repeatedly in the groin. They should go back to those rules and then watch all the dirty tatics come out.
