because im in tae kwon do right now, and my neghibor is a 3rd degree blackbelt in ju-jistu. but i forget if my dad told he teaches at like a local dojo or something like that. and i wanna know a whole buch of martial arts. but im kinda afraid of asking him. and i hardly know this guy, the only time i have seen him is when he went to return my mail because he got my mail by accident.
should i ask him if i can train with him and teach me some moves? also i might/kinda/maybe join the highschool wresling team (that is if they allow joint locks where i'm going.) thanks.

If the guy seems decent enough, and is willing, why not?

Check with the local law enforcement, make sure he's not a registered (or unregistered) sex offender, and then go for it.
Because JJ is awesome.

if he's third dan, maybe he's teaching somewhere.. go along to one of his classes and learn it properly.

Go for it! I would just suggest you ask him politely where he is teaching and if you can drop by t try it out. Sounds like a good supplement to your TKD so have fun!

Can't hurt to at least talk to him about his art to find out if he teaches or wants to teach. Trouble with jujutsu is that you really need a matted area and other people to train with to get good, so while one on one teaching can teach you some of the techniques, you won't truly master them without trying them out on different people.

Make SURE you join the wrestling team, the takedowns rule.

I agree, you've nothing to loose. If he says no, he says no. If he says yes then great.

I understand what you're saying, but it's a sad, sad world when we have to do this!!

LOL! That made me laugh, but you make a very good point.
But definite go ask him if he can teach you, but keep us up to date, we should be able to tell you if he's the real deal or just a fake mcdojo guy.
