Yeah! I'm an 8 and 16 bit man at heart. SNES was the greatest platform of all time! Sure, the graphics can't stand up to what we have today, but those games had class and style, and they never sacrificed good gameplay and storyline for pretty graphics or lots of marketing.

Anyone for Duck Hunt?

Hahaha...Galaxian is a little before my time, but I remember the laundromat my mom and I used to go to had an old arcade version of galaxian. Some of my fondest memories include rinse cycles and shooting aliens.
Duck Hunt was the best! My friends and I would get bored with it after a while and just start shooting at each other.

i saw this thread and thought : duck hunt, glad i was not the only one :D
Kirby's adventures in dreamland was cool too, even if he was essentially a pink blob. Anybody else ever play Captain Planet? What a game......
The NES rocked, thats all there is to it. I think it was the first console with a light gun too.

Yeah...Super Mario bros. and Sonic two, three and Knuckles. I remember playing Nintendo at my friend's place, and megadrive at home. Those were the days. I still have a sonic 3 cap that i got for free with the game. Back then, i would have to save up all my money just to buy a megadrive cartridge twice a year. THAT was hardcore gaming! ;)
I still play sonic now and then

I really liked, Sonic 2, Sonic & Knuckles, Splatterhouse 1-3, Time Killers, Street Fighter II, Altered Beast, Nightmare on Elm St, Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros. 3, Kung Fu, Shinobi, Ninja Gaiden, and so many more. There are just too many 8-bit and 16-bit games to name all the good ones.
Nintendo and Sega were the bomb back then. Then Sony came along through them both in a barrow and rolled them down the hill. By what can you say. I mean, some can compete while others can't. Plus, Nintendo is coming back but I don't think it'd ever get to be as strong as it once was.

Did anyone ever play Zombies Ate my Neighbors?
Marshall Banana
22-Jun-2004, 02:33 AM
Great games back then were Chrono Trigger, Super Mario 3, Streets of Rage 2, Gunstar Heroes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Lost in Time, The Simpsons arcade game, the first 2 Earthworm Jim games, Zombies ate my neighbors was great, and how could U ppl forget Contra? Too many to mention but thinking about them brings u back. (The Sega Channel was the best thing ever to happen to video games!)

None of your 'newfangled' SNES and Megadrive stuff for me!
Double Dragon, Golden Axe, Kung Fu Master, Rygar, Scramble, Defender, Moon Patrol, Moon Cresta, Outrun, Missile Command, Pacman, Super Sprint, Hypersports and Karate Champ.
They don't make games like those anymore. :(

I still own a snes now!! over 100 games!!! and me and ma mates sometimes put the ode beast back on for a blast, only last week me and a few mates decided to have a barbecue, get a few beers in and have a blast on the snes, I still think you cant beat Mario Kart for laughs, my mate was infront on the last lap on ghost valley 1 and I lobbed a banana skin over the shortcut and it landed right on his head making him fall off the edge, I went wizzing past still remaining the champion!! battle was great as well!! Sad I know.

I have "Zombies 8 my neighbours" on SNES Emulator. It's pretty funny, although it tends to get a bit repetitive nearing the end.

*drools* Chrono Trigger...ALL the old Super Marios...Bubble Bobble! What? I liked that game. It was cute!
My absolute favorite game was the ancient old X-men side scroller. Piece of genius with the graphics, story, and boss fights. If you've never seen this game, you are missing out! Old school X-men. Made with the costumes and story line from around X-men #100. Cool game.

Chrono Trigger....there's another one I had forgotten about! All the old Squaresoft games were great. Final Fantasy 3 remains my favorite game of all time.
I'm also STILL playing Super Metroid...I'm working on a speed run to see how fast I can finish the game and get 100% of the items.
