Whoa. It's really great to see something like this happening. I hope madam Razayee really kicks butt out there! What if, the first time a woman from Afghanistan is in the Olympics, she medals? Heh, what if she wins it! This is defintely going to be an interesting Games.

Absolutely!
Yes the 2004 Games will indeed be interesting. I do hope they plan on televising more of the Judo/TKD events aside from hammer-throwers and synchronized swimmers.
All Judo practitioners with updates concerning Judo's participation in Olympics, please post here!

It's a pity that none of them are MAPpers.
Their insight to the Olympics would be great for us all.
Cheers. :)

I've been looking around the BBC Sport website on the Olympics. Check out the Martial Art section and you can read diaries/ interviews of GB team amongst other things - well worth a look :D

"More"?
Does that mean that they've shown some Judo and I haven't seen it?!!
Thanks to KickChick, I've the TKD events noted near my PC so I don't miss the chance that they may televise it. . . I'm getting sick of swimming and gymnastics. . . but, well, summer olympics. ;P

I have seen some Judo, no thanks to US television, which chooses to broadcast it in the middle of the night. I've been watching on a French-Canadian channel, which concentrates mostly on the judoka from Canada and France, but that's more than I'm seeing on US television.

I caught the tail-end of some interview of an American Judo person (male), but alas I had to sleep (plus they started covering swimming). Anyone know what that was about, the guy was wearing a medal

Probably it was Jimmy Pedro, he won a bronze in the under 73 Kg class.

you should try watching olympic judo on british telly, its a nightmare. the bbc seem to more interested in force feeding us up to the minute reports on michael phelps and the US basketball team and what ever other events USA are doing well in (which is almost all of them). the bbc has extra channels dedicated to the olympics so you can choose what you watch..... currently two of the four extra channels are showing football (no british team invovled) one is showing boxing (no british fighter involved today) and one channel is showing a still view of that monument in athens. if a few minutes we're getting to watch team USA play someone? in basketball. yippe. :woo:
surely the worlds second most popular sport should have some sort of dedicated channel.
