One of my favorites is "Fish Heads" by Barnes & Barnes. I actually have the vinyl record of this, shaped and printed like a fish head!

Fish heads, fish heads
Roly poly fish heads
Fish heads, fish heads
Eat them up yum!

Cows With Guns. Don't know who does it, but got it off Dr. Demento. Who, by the way, ROCKS!

FISH HEADS!!!! KT you are a legend for remembering that song. Also just remembered an equally legendary figure, wierd al yankovic. The guy is a genius, who else could turn an avril lavigne song into a sordid tale of incest? (instead of why'd you have to go and make things so complicated it is How was i supposed to know that we were related?)

I think that song is before your time, Sean! :D The song is from 1979; the fish head-shaped record I have is from 1982.

Trivia: One half of the duo "Barnes & Barnes" was Billy Mumy -- you may remember him from "Lost in Space" and "Babylon 5"

I don't know if it was re-released, but I imagine a radio station could have played it as an oldie! Also, I think it made it onto one of those Dr. Demento compilations, so it got some additional exposure.

Where I used to live, there was a fantastic record store -- it specialized in imports, hard-to-find records, obscure bands, and all sorts of oddities and novelties. I was so disappointed when they went over to 100% heavy metal!

i think i mentioned chris moyles before but i now have found a site with all his song parodies available for download. Most are of songs from a few years ago but they are still good (Afro Blair is very funny).
