I am a first-dan black belt in taekwondo. I stopped training for several years and recently got back into it, but a knee injury has kept me off for a few months. That, plus the evolution of TKD in recent years and the fact that I am going to be 40 next year, makes me wonder if Hapkido would be better suited for me. Has anyone made a similar transition and, also, is there a Hapkido-jang that somebody can recommend in Paris? I get the impression that the discipline is well developed in Germany, the Netherlands, etc, but relatively new to France.

I'm not sure if its in Paris, as I don't know any French, but the site below may be of some help, its a very good school. I'm thinking of joining one of the clubs in England. :)

Many thanks, I'll try to contact one of the instructors, but I think it's outside of Paris. Here in the city, I think a few places do Sin Moo HKD with instructors (3rd-dan level or so) who come from TKD or Aikido. In the latter case, does it mean that the kicking practice may not be as intense or frequent as it would normally be in HKD? What's a "normal" allocation between hitting (punching & kicking) and other techniques in a HKD class anyway?
