Two tourists were driving through Wales. As they were approaching Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch, they started arguing about the pronunciation of the town's name.

They argued back and forth until they stopped for lunch. As they stood at the counter one tourist asked the blonde employee, "Before we order, could you please settle an argument for us? Would you please pronounce where we are ... very slowly?"

The girl leaned over the counter and said, "Burrrrrrrr, gerrrrrrrr, Kiiiiiiiing."

Err... I hope you're kidding (if you are, using a smiley wouldn't kill ya)

If you can point out to me exactly where that joke makes a racist comment about the welsh, then by all means I'll remove it.

I think he meant that photo of the track runners. There's one white guy out of a crowd of black guys, so tom said "You're all racist". It's an ironic inversion of the normal circumstances in which one would say that, because usually, it's the black people complaining about racists, not white people.

I saw a film in my Sociology class about how in Alabama State University, black people are in such a majority, that in an attempt to get more white students, the faculty started providing scholarships for being white, and lowered the entrance requirements from a 3.0 gpa to a 2.0. They changed the gpa requirement back, though, but I forget if the scholarship still exists.

Yeah, I see that now... shame it didn't load on my super fast 1k connection at home, I only saw the text! Sorry Tom :)

I think your completely wrong.

If it was a joke about a nationality where the majority are black then it would be considered a racist joke. The fact that it pokes fun at welsh means it is bad (I know it doesnt directly concern welsh people but still).

And the race picture - where I was aiming for skin colour or anything. It was like race-ist' and I included the picture of sprinters as like a joke on 'race'. I didn't look for one with mostly black people - I googled 'race' and copied the first picture I saw.

I'm interested to know which part of that joke you feel demean's the Welsh nationality in some way? IMO your being somewhat oversensitive about this. I'm Welsh too and found nothing offensive in that joke.

Its a Blonde joke that just happens to mention a Welsh town name. If you think that's "poking fun" at the Welsh, thats political correctness gone well and truely mad.

Tom> that's the last time I defend your sorry behind, not that you asked for it to begin with.

Besides, if anything, the joke makes fun of ubiquitous American fast food, and ubiquitous American tourists.

It's not that I didn't appreciate your help, but that you got what I intended to get across completely wrong. I didn't mean to offend you in my reply which I detect in your response, so sorry if I worked it wrongly.
