Close hedgey. The new judo training methods at the time owned the slow kata-like training methods of classical jujutsu. Most jujutsu has since adapted to train more like the original Kodokan (ie focus on self defence techniques but with a much more resisting partner, also incorporating some degree of randori)

these throws and sweeps are great i love them...is it unusual for someone to be stronger and faster on the ground?

They work better in your head than they do in real life. Practice them.

Stronger and faster than what? It's not unusual for people to be stronger and faster than me, that's for sure.

And we all know that in 118 years, nothing ever changes. Ever.

Judo IS jujitsu, just a different form.

Judo is great for getting a nice two point lead in sport BJJ, get the throw and go into ground work. A great judoka once said that every throw ends in an armbar. That's the way I was taught.

A great equalizer for a judo vs. BJJ: A concrete floor. :Alien:

a judoka who trains in bjj would be a grat grappler. judo takedowns are awesome and if you do the correctly, its a setup to a pin or a submission
