ok i gotta question on knives
i dunno how to word this.
knives are banned in the uk an there not allowed to be carried in the street but there allowed in the home i.e. for show.
am i right?
were also not allowed to sell, hire, offer for sale, offer for hire, expose or import knives.
how are we supposed to be able to get hold of them?
order online?
if so there gonna be foreign based manufacturors and will be needed to be imported - rite?
since there illegal they would be stopped at customs?
just wanna lil info really
cheers

Thought you could buy and sell them, isn't it just carrying them that's the issue??

Hey Big e ya dummy - have a look on YOUR martial arts club website.
A certain hosiffer of the law that we know spent the time & trouble to do a whole section on what you can & cannot carry & other legal stuff.
Offensive Weapons (http://www.cea.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ceaweb/law-weapons.htm)
Can I Carry A Knife? (http://www.cea.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ceaweb/law-blades.htm)
As far as customs go - if it's not on the banned weapons list (The offensive Weapons Order 1988.) you can import it. If it IS on the list hen you take the risk of having it confiscated by customs. I've known people to be lucky & unlucky.

Heh heh. Three swords coming through customs, searched my bag, took them out, looked at them, shrugged and put them back (check-on luggage not carry-on).
The connection through Canada was interesting though.
"Are you carrying any weapons?"
"Yes, I've got a pair of tonfa, a bo, two bokken, three swords, and a selection of knives."
