View Full Version : Preventing burnout

Anyone here got any ideas for how to avoid burnout, other than resting?

Here's the situation. Over the past three months or so I've been training in class pretty much daily for an hour and a half, three hours some days. Then I've been doing the same at home or at the gym for two-to three more hours. I woke up this morning and felt like I was going to fall apart. Any suggestions?

Engaged already, so that pretty chick in class would cause more trouble than she's worth.

Nice article, very helpful and I've printed myself off a copy, but I was referring to physical rather than mental burnout.

LOL! I have an extensive collection.
Someone will say or ask something that jogs my memory of articles I've read a long time ago
but sometimes I have trouble finding the one I'm looking for.

Use common sense and listen to your body.
Yeah, I know, as we get older it tends to complain more. LOL!

LOL! Watching, huh?
Keep your focus because girls have a way of using subtle (and not so subtle)
distraction to our advantage. All's fair in love and war!
Well, it's been fun guys but I'm off to train.

Try concentrating on different muscle groups on different nights. Good to give muscles a couple of days recovery after a good workout. Such as lower body, one night, upper body the next, then the next maybe concentrate on technique without any intesive muslce workouts. Just some rough ideas....
