lol, i just got a demo of this game. The illegal punches and speedy combos are pretty fun to maim youur mates with but its got nothing on proper fighting games like tekken and soul calibur. Boxing just isn't that fun on a games console....

never played a boxing game before.. i hear its good is it that good? i was under the impression that boxing games were just bob, weave,jab, punch, hook, and uppercut and not even moving

I like DOA3, all the "true fighting fans" said that the fighting system wasnt deep enough with not enough combos and such, i think its perfect, the counter system is simple and well balnced, the fights are awesome.

DOA is very cool! My girlfriend asked though why is it the girls have bouncy bits and not guys. Of course she asked only to see my reaction..i just said its made for immature boys like me :D
I've always been a fan of the Virtual Fighter series though.
I'm kinda old school in my games so i woould say my overall favourite is King of Fighter 1996 edition.
The graphics are great, the music is cool and original (except for a few by beethoven/mozart) and the combos are so much fun to pull off.

Ugh, I hate the extra realistic fighting games. They aren't entertaining unless you do martial arts and can know how a real fight looks like, but they are stupid becuase I'd rather be training than playing that game. =/

Now, for games like Soul Calibur: I can't just start wacking people on the street with a quarter staff. That's why the game is fun. :)

Guilty Gear X is the BEST fighting game out there, high res backgrounds with 2d characters, amazing combos with finger crunching directions and mayhem button bashing for the ages!!!

None of this learning button combination malarky! You get instant, full control of your character and it's down to instantaneous speed, skill and timing rather than how much you've practiced tapping in the "super combo" button pattern! :D

i was never a good enough player to get the hang of guilty gear X so i hated it and sold it after a day. super smash Bro. melee is one of the best, mainly because its a melee! you dont have to concentrate on one person or take turns playing.

I have it for ps2...I think it is great...i would recommend you buy it...if your not sure either rent it or buy it from game xchange or something...it lets you make custom characters and stuff which is really cool...

Heh, It looks great probly just go ahead and buy it when I find the time to play it. I like the idea of building your character and stuff and it seemed better than the pride game. I read teh back of it one day at blockbuster and it looked great. It looked too good to waste money on renting it so I figured I'd buy it in the future and have forgotten about it /lol. Is the ground fighting cool in it as well?
