Theres various names for them but what does everyone feel about the StairClimbers. Do you think they work well in your cardio training. As side from rowing, skipping and running, i want another cardio excersice. Also if anyone out there has any good drills for the machine, can you pass it on.

Fun discusions too......

Now to your question. Stairs really do work. At my job over the summer...I use to run up the stairs of a 23 floor tower....even with ankle weights on.
It really works;)
Well, thats from my personal experience.

Hi Geordie Boy

Glad you found your way over here :D

Stair climbers are an excellent addition to any gym based cardio program. I use them a lot. Here's a typical Cv workout in the gym for me...

1. Warm up: 3 x 3min Skipping ; 5min stretch
2. 20min Reclined cycle - set at a heart rate of 156bpm
3. 5 min skipping
4. 20min Cross trainer (Eliptical trainer) again set at 156bpm
5. 5min skipping
6. 10min stair climber set on interval - hard!
7. 5min skipping
8. Treadmill - 10min steady pace then 6 x 1min flat out sprints on full incline - it takes about 20 seconds to reach full speed so I'm getting 40secs flat out, then it takes about a minute to reset the machine for the next effort.
9. 10min curled up in the corner of the gym in foetal position sucking thumb trying not to be sick :D
10. 15min Streeeetch.
