(newbie to the board here)

Im looking for a JKD school in New York City. Possibly in the Queens area. However if you can suggest a diffrent style for me.... Ive tried Tae Kwon Do, Shodokan Karate, and Judo for a while and. None seem to fit me. I dont work out much but i seem to have excellent tone, strength, and speed. Some friends who do practice some forms of martial arts get surprised when they try their moves on me. Lately though, i have been motivated to learn a form of martial arts and excel my body and mind. A few friends suggested Jeet Kune Do to me and it sounds closer to what im looking for.. Something....fluid. Unlike the other types with Rigid styles to conform to. Well im rambling again.. to make a long story short... any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Jimmy

I've had the chance to work and watch Sifu Luigi in action at Dan Inasanto seminars. I've always been impressed by him and his students. It seems like this would be a great place to train!

I second that!

Do let us know how it goes for you Crowe.

We always seem to remain curious as to what happens to the newbies here and if they succeed in finding a school.

Disclaimer: My school. I'm not teaching group classes at the moment, as I am relocating to Suffolk County - but plan on keeping the private students that I teach here in Flushing (I work in Corona and my in-laws are in Flushing, so I'm here quite often).

Let me know if you're interested.

Best,

Steve Lamade
