hey.

i have recently started learning bo-juitsu to compliment my goju-ryu path, and am currently searching for katas and forms for the bo (as well as sai, tonfa and jo as well).

if anyone knows of a great website with such information, please drop me the url.

cheers.

mine has a few bo kata on it - Sakagawa, Shimabuku and Miasata.

www.geocities.com/arthorses

they are in words but will have videos when I get around to doing them! I assume basic knowledge of handling bo so if unsure drop me a line and I'll try to help u out.

thanks for your reply. shall read in depth the forms and refer any queries to my sensei.

on another issue...

i have recently begun practicing Qui-Gung, of which you could say reiki is derived from, and have found that it has indeed deepened my perception of my own personal chi. This perception i have found has given me a more profound appreciation of martial arts and its holistic possibilities.

i am even thinking about studing reiki in the next few months.

i am interested in how you believe practicing an art which focuses on the cultication of universal energy, has effected your own martial arts.

as well as how this very peaceful and healing art has effected your philosophy about martial arts and conflict in general.

personally, the higher i develop in martial ability, the more i feel like i have to balance the ability to destroy with the ability to create and heal. is this your motivation as well?

i would love to hear your thoughts on these matters if you can offer them.

cheers

Could you please put some sai videos on your site as I would like to learn how to use mine rather than just have them hang on the wall and flip them around in my hands

LOL good answer :D Consider it 'in the pipeline'

Seriously though, they won't be instructional videos, just small ones of kata and partner work. Now I have to figure out this bandwidth thing...........whatever that means ;)

I have Tokumei No Kun and some other bo katas on video. They are performed by Shimabuku. If I can find my CD I could send them to you.

Yes, excellent choice, have a look at tapes by :-

Patrick McCarthy (excellent tape and value)
Toshiro Oishiro (demonstrates 4 or 5 kata)
