Hi there,
This is actually my first post on these forums, and as you read, you may think i've posted this particular subject on the wrong one...please bear with me, i'll try to make it short.
Ok here it is. I recently woke up one morning (now 4 weeks ago) and decided to quit smoking, subsequently pretty much for the time being also cutting out all alcohol intake in the proccess. This is all fine, and i dont even feel at the moment as if its even been as diffucult as i previously thought it would be.
Now... esspecially in the last week i've found that not only is my circulation etc improving, but i also feel as if my senses are increasing in sensitivity as well (yes even in this short space of time) and i'm also getting quite physically agitated which i can only put down to changes in my system causeing my body to (possibly) become "bored".
I'd already been looking into JKD for some time and i've decided that regarding the principles involved, and information i've managed to aquire through "The tao of Bruce Lee","The art of expressing the human body" and alot of other information from lots of differant classic, concept, original JKD site's on the net. It's most deffinatly what i'm looking to get into for the duration. Fortunatly enough wer i live in Hamilton Scotland i've (with some info from on here and elsewere) found out that 2 reputable JKD schools are relativly close to me. The Krause Bro's in Glasgow city center, and Tommy Carruthers Kwoon now in Brigeton, Glasgow. I think that from clips i've seen, comments i've read on many forums from even the likes of Jesse Glover, i'll be looking into Tommys Classes with some luck.
Anyway my question for you guys is (finally i hear you say):
Before i actually start on JKD classes, would it be better to spend a month or so training or would it be reasonably ok (as a beginner in martial arts) to start classes as soon as possible, and gain fitness along the way as well as from additional training ?
(i actually also have quite an active job if it makes any impact on what course of action i should take)
Funny, before i started writing i was sooo sure this post wouldnt be even this long lol :S
