Salutations.
I've a question regarding general throwing weapons...
In my short experience with these, I've managed to become fairly accuarate.
However, when throwing anything shaped like a knife or needle, I've never managed to make them fly straight and tip-first.
Is it actually possible, or should I get used to the spin and cope with it?

It's gotta spin.
You need to learn how to control the rate of spin - I use a half turn, holding the knife by the tip and turning 180 to hit the target.

They have to spin, due to the weighting. Get used to the spin and learn to judge it.

bo sheriken spin one half turn every three steps, in other word use this to figure out the spin
less than 3 steps = no spin
3 to 5 steps = 180 degree spin
6 steps = 360 degree or on full spin
and so on....cloud

Ive got 2 throwing knife sets ,to throw a knife properely you have to use your body movement and body weight to throw the knife properely , also using a correct method of throwing that suites you , i prefer throwing the knife , by holding the knife blade raised behind my head , stood in a 90 degree angle with our feet and you other arm raised and pointing towards the target , then step forward as you throw the knife and pull the arm thats aiming backwards bhind your head , or you may prefer to lean instead of stepping but , i prefer stepping as it gives the knife a cleaner throw.
hope this was any help .

As Papa-san (Ed Martin, 14th Dan, Bujinkan Ninjutsu) always tells us, you should always throw from the handle, not the blade. Reason? If you're in a knife fight and suddenly have to throw the knife for any reason, you have hesitation if you have to switch to gripping the blade from the handle just to throw the weapon. Personally, I don't want even a split second wasted when dealing with knives so I've learned to throw from the handle. Take this suggestion for what you will. Take care everyone!
