Recently after a training seminar we took some of the other guys to the pub for food and a pint, my instructor was taking to some of the visitors saying what a good student i was balance/co-ordination etc when i was bring over some food and BAM, I tripped over a step and landed chest first on the floor whilst holding out the food trying to save it.
How Embaressed was I? How embaressed was my instructor?

Entered a Light Continuous Kickboxing tournament a few years back. A common tactic is to get your lead leg up before the other guy, and start banging away with it to set up combinations. You have to get the leg up first, and keep the chambered knee higher than the other guy though. I'd seen my opponent in other matches and thought; "no problem". I barely scraped through on a points decision. I came off the mat, and my instructor came over. He said " Whats wrong with you? "
At this point I realised the problem. I had forgotten to take off my ankle weights. My instructor laughed his head off at me.
If you've never used ankle weights, the idea is that you wear them all day during a competition, and take them off just before your match. your legs have adapted to the weight change, so they are in temporary turbo mode.
I was in a demostration at my club, and had to demonstrate doing switching mawashi geri's (roudhouse kicks) over a high backed chair. Half my family were watching, and it was all going smoothly till i didn't pull my leg back quick enough and hit the chair. I ended up flat on my back with the chair flung halfway across the dojo! Its probably the most embarssed I've for a Loooong time :o

Years ago me and a mate were at a kata competition and he'd decided to do Heian Nidan for his kata. He started off well but hadn't measured his area, he went off the matted area very close to the spectators who were all sitting in collapsable chairs around the hall. Rather than admitt he was running out of space he carried on reguardless and right at the point where you grab your opponents head and bring it down whilist knee ing him, he'd actually knee'd the front chair so hard that it took off and landed in the middle of the fourth row, he carried on regurdless and went on to win the competition!

I was in a tourny, and I decided to do pyung ahn ee dan (Heian Ni dan for the Japanese stylest). I did the form kinda fast, but good technique ..... that's untill I got to the last move ..... I totally forgot what it was (even with the fact it's the same on the either side!) gggrrrr. I still got third place, cause I did it over right.

I have a friend at work and we share our karate knowledge. We were in his office and he was showing me a variaton of a wrist drop. He took me down to my knees right in front of him. (get the picture)Anyway, he always leaves me briefly in the technique so I can feel how it works. I tapped out on his leg but he didn't respond right away. Glancing up I notice he's grinning and looking towards the office door. After releasing me, he helps me up and I immediately turn to see the goofy expessions of 3 male co-workers looking in the door window. I guess I don't have to tell you what they were thinking.
What becomes quite normal for a martial artist is viewed very differently by the average person.

Sorry to drag up old threads, but I have a good story to add here
Once I was at the after-practice practice with some other club members, and James JKN was showing me some grappling moves. He had mount on me, and was explaining a technique, when all of a sudden we hear "What the ****!?!?" from the doorway. I look over and these two strangers are just standing there staring at us. Guy sitting on top of girl who is lying on the floor.... well, you get what these poor people were thinking :D
I started laughing and couldn't stop for at least a full minute.

I was teaching yup choygi... and telling the students that you need to have good form n balance while doing this kick otherwise you'll fell flat on ur butts(one of them actually did earlier)... and then While I was showing them this kick.. somehow I slipped and landed on my arse... well those 2 didn't dared to laugh at me(they were wondering if I got hurt, I landed pretty hard)... but oh.. well... it was kinda embarassing... and I was like
"Guys.. see.. if you don't do it right.. this will happne to you, Ouch"..
