the chat room

i keep trying to log in the chat room but i am not forwarded to the room, i keep ending up back at the log in screen but it say's i'm logged in.

what browser are you using FS? At the moment chat requires IE6 and a java virtual machine loaded.

awwell that explains it then im using aol, can you please explain the java virtual machine thingy ?

AOL currently not working with chat.

A java virtual machine (JVM) is software that runs with your browser that lets you run java applets on pages. Some pages require this feature. (A bit like flash plugin is required for arcade)

There are two main JVM's at the moment, by Microsoft and Sun. Sun's is the best for 'open standards', but I have found Microsoft's to be better supported on websites, and certain pages I have come across will only work with the MS version.
