Has anyone made their own suspension training device like the TRX (given they cost about £120? I've been looking at webbing and handles this afternoon trying to decide how I would and how much it would cost, probably around £25 plus a bit of assembly time, sewing, gluing, etc.

Something like this would be a good start

Then I was in B&Q and saw some packaging straps with quick release locks, couple of those at £5 each load weight upto 150kg

The next bit (handles) I'm least sure of because I'd want something that could fully support my weight, for feet straps would need an additional bit of webbing. These seemed a quick fix just for handles

...but really I'm posting the question because there could be a better method of putting one together yourself that hasn't occurred to me and would rather make a decent job of it if I'm going to go to the hassle of making my own.

http://www.v-tapershaper.com/ this is a pretty cheap alternative.

I know of people who just put a loop on the end of 2 ratchet straps and sling em round a tree, they get by fine.

Also if you want handles the type they use on cable stations can be fairly cheap.

After this I was reading Ross Enamait's blog post about homemade suspension trainers and he used cam buckle cables which are the things I saw in B&Q. How you would get them around a tree branch above head high I don't know! Those metal handles are fairly heavy and more than a months gym membership though it's hard to find the plastic ones

They have this amazing invention, it's called a ladder. ;)
